Fantaghiro
Well .. I think most of you people out there don´t even know who Princess Fantaghiro is .... On this Page I´ll tell and show you who she is .. and you will like her!
Princess Fantaghiro is an Italian Fantasy fairy-tale about a Princess who´s not really interested in the things girls in that aera are supposed to be interested in. She has to manage a lot of difficult situations. She´s very much interested in fighting instead of marriage ... but then she meets Prince Romualdo in the forest. She falls in love with him as well as he with her. The story is told in ten 2 hour long series. It is a co-production of a german and an italian TV-Station. (in Germany)

In all other Countrys where it is shown it seem to be 5 Parts of each 4 hours. But I´ll take the German Names here !!!

Part 1/2:
Once there was a King who hopes for the birth of his male successor of the throne, who shall bring peace. But like the white witch foretells, his wife bears the third girl -Fantaghiro- and dies. Fantaghiro, who shall be married against her will refuses to marry. She gets banned from her castle by her father. In the fairy-forest the white witch shows her how to fight. There she meets Prince Romualdo (the enemy of her father) who can´t forget her eyes anymore ...

Part 3/4:
While the old King, tired of his long reign, travels peacefully through his land, the marriage of his daughter Fantaghiro and Prince Romualdo is being prepared. As a marriage-promise Fantaghiro promises Romualdo not to take a weapon in her hands ever again. Her sword disappears into a box which is sealed by a swearing. Luck and peace in the Land of Fantaghiro ... nothing hates the dark witch more than that. That´s why she makes a dark plan to interrupt that peace ...

Part 5/6:
After having won against the dark witch, there is a new threat for Fantaghiro and her luck. Because the wizard Tarabas heard a prophecy that a king´s child will destroy his force of evil he lets his dark warriors catch all kings´ childs -dead or alive-. Fantaghiro´s nieces shall be caught too and Fantaghiro´s husband Romualdo changes to stone when he falls in a river that was contamined by Tarabas´ warriors. Only a kiss of Tarabas can make Romualdo wake up again ...

Part 7/8:
A deadly wind brings three dark knights into the Land of Fantaghiro. She has to beat them in order to save the people of hunger and thirst and illness. But the fight is hopeless because the knights are not made of flesh and blood so she can´t beat them.She only has one chance to beat them. She has to find the secret force of the nothing which has created these warriors. The land of Tohor has been visited by the knights too, and now the people think that Tohor is the cause of the warriors. Fantaghiro will discover a malicious intention.

Part 9/10:
After defeating the dark magican Tarabas, it finally seems to be peace in the Lands of Fantaghiro. But this peace doesn´t last for long, because suddenly the dark witch reappears and is determined to finally destroy her opponent Fantaghirò. But before she can make her bad plan real Fantaghirò is suddenly vanished and finds herself in an other worls called "Elsewhere". But she is not safe here, too, because some strange force threatens the people.

Castle of Fantaghiro

The castle of Fantaghirò is placed in the Czech Republic in the village Bouzov (80 km north by north east of Brno)

Trip from Brno (you can go there from Praha, too, there´s a "Highway" to Brno) :

Brno / Road 43 till you´re in front of Svitavka (Way to Boskovice)

Road 18 to Boskovice / Road 374 to Jaromerice / Road 371 to Mestecko-Trnavka /

Castle of Romualdo

The castle of Romualdo is named Pernstein near the village Nedvedice (40 km north by north west of Brno)

Trip from Brno (you can go there from Praha, too, there´s a "Highway" to Brno) :

Brno / Road 43 to Ceska / Road 385 to Tisnov / Road 387 to Nedvedice / Cityroad to Pernstein

You can reach Nedvedice by train, too !

Castle of the Black Witch

The black castle is placed in Bojnice in the Slovakic Republic (80 km north east of Nitra)

Trip from Bratislava :

Bratislava / Highway D61 to Piestany / Road 499 to Topolcany / Road 64 to Prievidza / Cityroad to Bojnice

Other Locations

A place of shooting in the park scenery is Lednice (in the west of Breclav, also Czech Republic)

Trip from Podivin at the Highway D2 Brno - Bratislava / Road 422 to Lednice

The park-like scenery is located in the Thaya-Lowland.
